Intersolar Summit Africa 2025

Kenya
12.03.2025 - 13.03.2025

On 12-13 March 2025, the Intersolar Summit Africa 2025 will bring together renewable energy industry leaders, innovators and policymakers to share the future of Africa’s solar landscape. With an anticipated gathering of 250 attendees, the Summit will attract a diverse spectrum of professionals, including solar developers, EPC contractors, investors, government representatives and technology providers.

GET.invest is engaging in various activities during the two-day event:

  • On Wednesday, 12 March (11:15 – 12:00 EAT), the Global Solar Council will launch the first edition of the Africa Market Outlook, in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Institute and with the support of GET.invest. The new report provides a comprehensive analysis of current and forecasted solar photovoltaic installed capacity, highlighting key opportunities and challenges across Africa’s diverse markets for the expansion of solar energy.
  • On Thursday, 13 March (11:00 – 12:30 EAT), GET.invest Advisor Ibidun Oludipe will moderate the session “The role of African private sector in achieving the African Single Electricity Market/Continental MasterPlan”. GET.invest Finance Catalyst Advisor Jerry Okoko and our sister programme GET.transform’s Head of Global Partnerships Ene Macharm will be taking part among other expert panellists. The session will explore the overarching objectives of the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM), which aim at harnessing Africa’s natural energy, generating resources and seeking suitable mechanisms by which to interconnect the power grids across the continent. The discussions will address the challenges linked to grid connection and access to energy for all, regional nuances, and the role of the private sector, development finance institutions and multilateral development banks to support AfSEM’s ambitious goals.

Finally, GET.invest is implementing the APRA Matchmaking during Intersolar Summit Africa 2025, financed by the Accelerated Partnership for Renewables in Africa’s support to Kenya. APRA is an international alliance led by African countries committed to renewable energy transitions and green industrialization. The matchmaking will provide participants with the opportunity to connect with potential business partners, public and private investors, and policymakers in a series of selected personal meetings with a duration of 20 minutes. On Thursday, 13 March (16:30 – 17:00 EAT), the APRA Matchmaking awards ceremony will recognise outstanding participants who have successfully engaged in the sessions, honouring their dedication to building meaningful relationships with potential business partners.
