Accelerating towards SDG 7, Renewable Energy in Developing Countries

How can the Netherlands contribute to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 and thereby help to accelerate the spread of renewable energy projects in developing countries? On the 5th of April, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl), in association with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will set out to answer this question. During the event, participants will be able to meet with colleagues from the renewable energy industry, to discuss issues ranging from clean cooking to the financing of renewable energy projects. A detailed agenda can be found here. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and RVO.nl will use this event to launch their new subsidy facility SDG 7 Results: Access to renewable energy (SDG 7 Results); a €11.25 million fund for businesses, NGOs or financial institutions who want to contribute to access to sustainable energy in developing countries.

GET.invest will contribute to the afternoon session “Renewable Energy: collaboration for large scale finance in development countries”. Together with the Access to Energy Fund (jointly initiated by the Dutch government and FMO), the programme will present approaches towards unlocking investment in renewable energy projects in their support towards achieving SDG 7. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a key contributor to GET.invest.
