Africa Energy Forum 2024
Returning for the 26th year, the 2024 Africa Energy Forum (AEF) will be taking place in Barcelona (Spain) on 25-28 June as a platform for the continent’s energy sector key stakeholders, investors and future leaders to come together and foster innovation. Under the motto “Energy Systems of the Future – Balancing Africa’s Needs with Global Goals”, AEF 2024 will bring four interactive discussions covering vital areas such as project developments, technology innovations, cross-sector opportunities, and collaborations.
As part of the conference, on Friday, 28 June (11:30-13:00 CEST) GET.invest will organise a 90-minute boardroom together with its partners SolarPower Europe and GWEC. The session mainly targets decision makers (public and private), donors, project developers and financiers interested in investing in Africa’s energy infrastructure.
The boardroom will highlight the role of investment de-risking mechanisms to accelerate energy infrastructure deployment in Africa. Specifically, the session will offer a platform for a solution-seeking conversation where the needs of the markets are discussed and opportunities presented by sharing insights from the relevant players in the ecosystem about needs, lessons learnt and future opportunities incl. guarantee mechanisms as potential catalytic unlockers of investment at scale.
Further insights on best practices for successful renewable energy auctions will be shared during a panel discussion supported by our sister programme GET.transform: “Effective Tendering for Renewable Energy IPP Development” on 27 June (8:00 CEST).
