Samuel Martin
Samuel Martin has more than 20 years of professional experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency in developing countries. Mechanical engineer by training, Samuel has worked on all aspects of renewable energy projects, from financing to feasibility studies, distribution strategies, legal/regulatory frameworks and institutional aspects. He is a specialist in rural electrification (SHS and mini-grids) and biomass energy. Over the past 20 years, Samuel has lived in Africa, Asia and South America and has worked for research institutes, NGOs, consulting firms and the United Nations, amongst others. In this context, he developed and implemented programmes and projects on energy access and energy efficiency. In recent years, Samuel has been involved in off-grid market assessments, mini-grid feasibility studies, development of legal and regulatory frameworks for off-grid energy, assessment of institutional aspects of energy projects, developments of financing mechanisms for the off-grid private sector, and support to private companies on financing and strategic development aspects. Samuel is based in Burkina.
